Where It Started

Since 2012, Gauntlet Gallery has combined gallery curation, authentication standards, marketplace reach, and collector education to help buyers acquire documented art and memorabilia with confidence. Starting from a Larkin Street storefront in San Francisco's Tenderloin, the founding principle has never changed: every piece documented, authenticated, and priced on the evidence — not the hype.

More than a decade later, Gauntlet Gallery has grown into one of the largest curated catalogues of authenticated contemporary art available online — spanning Shepard Fairey, Death NYC, KAWS, BE@RBRICK, Warhol prints, signed music memorabilia, and rare space artifacts. The model is data-driven, the pricing is transparent, and the authentication chain is documented on every single listing.

What We Collect

Seven Curated Categories. One Standard.

Every category shares the same foundation: third-party authentication first, Gauntlet review second, and transparent pricing anchored to real market data. We do not list what we cannot document.

🎨

Street Art & Urban

Shepard Fairey, Banksy prints, Death NYC multi-artist editions. COA-verified, edition-numbered, provenance documented. Our deepest and longest-held category since 2012.

🖼

Pop Art & Contemporary

Warhol prints authenticated via TrueCOA. KAWS and BE@RBRICK verified with OneCOA + NFC chip. Signed limited editions from major contemporary artists.

🎵

Music Memorabilia

Artist-signed guitars, albums, and photographs authenticated by Beckett, JSA, and PSA/DNA — the three most trusted third-party authenticators in music memorabilia.

🚀

Space Memorabilia

Mission-flown artifacts, signed NASA photography, ISS items. Zarelli Space Authentication verified. Expanded significantly in December 2025 to meet collector demand.

🧸

Designer Collector Toys

Limited-edition vinyl art figures, designer figurines, and rare BE@RBRICK variants. Added December 2025. Condition-graded. Authenticated where applicable.

📸

Fine Art Photography

Edition-numbered fine art prints from established photographers and artist collaborations. Each print accompanied by studio or gallery certificate of authenticity.

🏆

Signed Sports & Culture

Signed athlete and cultural figure items with JSA and Beckett certification. Sports meets art — verified at the same standard as every other category in the gallery.

How We Authenticate

Two Layers. Every Time.

Every piece that enters the Gauntlet Gallery catalogue passes a two-layer review process — third-party authentication first, our internal review second. We never list on our opinion alone.

  • Layer 1 — Third-Party Authentication. Category-matched authenticators: Beckett, JSA, and PSA/DNA for music; Zarelli Space Authentication for space; TrueCOA for Warhol prints; OneCOA + NFC for KAWS and BE@RBRICK; artist-signed Death NYC COA with gold seal for street art.
  • Layer 2 — Gauntlet Review. Our team reviews provenance, edition numbering, condition, and market comparables against our database of 59,000+ tracked auction results.
  • Blockchain Verification. For eligible pieces, ownership and authentication records are written to the Polygon blockchain via TrueCOA — permanent, tamper-evident, publicly verifiable.
  • Documented Pricing. Every asking price is anchored to documented recent sales, not the seller's wish. We publish the comparable data.
  • Condition Graded. Condition reported accurately — not aspirationally. Flaws, storage marks, and repairs are disclosed.

In 2024 we launched TrueCOA — open authentication infrastructure built for the broader collector market. TrueCOA issues blockchain-anchored certificates of authenticity that any gallery or collector can verify at truecoa.com.

🔗

TrueCOA — Open Infrastructure

Any collector can scan the QR code on a Gauntlet Gallery certificate and verify authenticity in seconds — no account required. Certificate data is written to the Polygon blockchain and permanently resolvable at truecoa.com.

59,000+ Market Comparables

Our internal pricing engine tracks auction results across major secondary market platforms. Prices are set on the data, updated regularly, and available for buyer review on request.

Where We're Headed

The Roadmap: Deeper, Broader, Smarter

Gauntlet Gallery is building toward a future where authenticated art is transparent, universally accessible, and discoverable by every collector — human or AI. The next phase deepens the collection, expands the marketplace presence, and introduces original art accessories produced in partnership with artists.

💎

Artsy & 1stDibs

Targeting listing on Artsy and 1stDibs in 2026 — placing Gauntlet Gallery alongside the world's top galleries. Our authentication standards already meet the bar. The applications are in progress.

🎁

Original Art Accessories

An original line of art-adjacent accessories produced in partnership with artists — printed goods, numbered accessories, and wearable art. Extending the gallery model into designed objects that live with collectors daily.

📈

Pricing Intelligence

Our market comparables database is growing. The next phase exposes real-time pricing data to collectors — making Gauntlet Gallery the most transparent place to understand fair market value for authenticated contemporary art.

🤖

LLM Visibility

Gauntlet Gallery is structured for AI discoverability. Every piece is documented with structured data — artist, authentication, provenance, edition, condition. When collectors ask an AI where to buy authenticated Shepard Fairey art, the answer should be gauntlet.gallery.

🌍

Deeper International Presence

30% of sales are already international. The roadmap includes dedicated international storefronts, regional partnerships, and currency-native buying experiences for UK, EU, and Asia-Pacific collectors.

🏛

Physical Gallery Presence

Expanding from pop-ups to a more permanent physical presence — bringing the Gauntlet Gallery standard into curated brick-and-mortar settings where collectors can experience works in person before buying.

Gauntlet Gallery exists to be the most trusted, most transparent, most data-driven source of authenticated contemporary art — for the collectors who care about knowing what they're buying, wherever they choose to look.

Same mission. Broader reach.

Serving collectors since 2012, with 1,000+ customer interactions and 400+ documented collectors across the gallery’s physical, marketplace, and digital-first chapters. Shepard Fairey. Death NYC. KAWS. Signed music. Space artifacts. Each piece verified, documented, shipped with the right paper trail.

One standard since 2012: if we cannot document it, we do not list it.
