Returns & Refunds

Returns and Refunds Policy

Gauntlet Gallery returns and refunds policy.

Easy Returns Process

Our returns and refunds process is designed to make things simple, clear, and stress-free. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you can request a return by following our return guidelines and contacting support within the allowed return window. We aim to make the steps easy to understand so you can act quickly without confusion. Before sending anything back, please make sure the item meets the return requirements, including being unused, in its original condition, and packaged properly. Once we receive and review your request, we will guide you through the next steps and help you complete the return as smoothly as possible.

Refund Review and Approval

After your returned item is received, it will be inspected to confirm it meets our policy requirements. This review helps ensure that refunds are processed fairly and accurately. If the item qualifies, your refund will be approved and issued using the original payment method whenever possible. Please note that processing times may vary depending on your bank or card provider, so it may take several business days for the amount to appear in your account. We always work to keep the process efficient and transparent, and we will notify you once your refund has been completed or if any additional details are needed to finish the review.

Items That May Not Be Eligible

Not all purchases may qualify for returns and refunds, especially when items have been used, damaged after delivery, or returned without the required packaging or proof of purchase. Certain product types may also be non-returnable due to hygiene, safety, or customization reasons. These rules help protect both customers and the quality of our service. If you are unsure whether your item qualifies, our support team can help you check before you send it back. We recommend reviewing the return conditions carefully so you know what to expect and avoid delays. Clear communication makes the entire process faster and helps prevent rejected return requests.

Eligible Items

Most standard inventory may be returned if it is in original, undamaged condition and includes all materials sent with the order.

  • Open editions and limited editions in original condition.
  • Framed pieces where the frame, glazing, mat, mounting, and hanging hardware have not been altered.
  • Designer figures and collectibles in original box and packaging.
  • Signed memorabilia in original protective packaging.
  • Artwork with all COA records, provenance notes, blockchain certificate references, NFC materials, labels, and accessories included.

Items That May Be Final Sale

Some items cannot be returned once ordered, prepared, authenticated, framed, transferred, or delivered. If a listing is final sale, that will be stated before purchase.

  • Custom-framed works, custom orders, commissions, and special-order pieces sourced for a specific buyer.
  • Private-sale items, layaway payments, authentication services, advisory fees, and digital certificate services.
  • Items altered after delivery, including cropped, reframed, restored, modified, signed over, separated from certificates, or separated from identifying marks.
  • Downloadable content, digital-only records, or blockchain certificate services already delivered.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email hi@gauntlet.gallery within 30 calendar days of confirmed delivery. Include your order number, the item title, and whether the return is due to fit, condition, damage, or another issue.
  2. Wait for return authorization before shipping anything back. We will confirm eligibility, return address, packaging requirements, and label instructions.
  3. Repack the item using the original packaging whenever possible. Include all certificates, labels, hangtags, COA records, NFC materials, and included documentation.
  4. Ship with the approved insured UPS or USPS label and keep the receipt until the return is inspected.
  5. After receipt, we inspect the piece. If it clears condition review, we issue the refund to the original payment method.

Return Shipping & Insurance

Return shipping is free on eligible pieces $500 and above. For eligible pieces under $500, an $18 return-label fee may be deducted from the refund. If a return is due to our error or verified transit damage, we cover the return shipping and insurance.

Return shipments must be insured for the purchase value. Items returned without authorization, without required insurance, or with inadequate packaging may be refused or may affect the refund amount.

Condition Review

Returned items must be in the same condition as received. We inspect for creases, stains, fingerprints, frame scratches, glazing damage, corner or edge damage, box damage, missing paperwork, missing packaging, missing COA materials, missing NFC tags, separated certificates, altered blockchain records, restoration, or other changes after delivery.

If buyer-caused damage or missing materials are found, we may refuse the return, reduce the refund, or offer to ship the item back at the buyer's cost. If the item is damaged in return transit despite approved packaging and insurance, we help file the carrier claim.

Refund Timing

Refunds are issued after the returned item is received and inspected. Inspection usually takes 2-3 business days after delivery back to the gallery. Once approved, refunds are sent to the original payment method. Card, Shop Pay, PayPal, and bank processing times vary and may take several additional business days.

Original outbound shipping, insurance, customs fees, duties, VAT, import charges, payment-processing fees, wire fees, and special handling fees may be nonrefundable unless required by law or unless the return is due to our error.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives damaged or materially different from the listing, photograph the exterior packaging, the item before removal, and the damage or discrepancy. Email hi@gauntlet.gallery within 48 hours of delivery. Keep all packaging until the carrier claim or gallery review is complete.

For authenticity concerns, contact us before starting a standard return. Covered authenticity claims should follow the Gauntlet Gallery COA Guarantee process so the claim is reviewed under the correct documentation standard.
