Authentication and supporting paperwork vary by item. Review the individual listing, photographs, condition notes, and included materials before buying. A brand name or a gallery review does not by itself mean a piece has third-party certification.
How to review a piece
- Signed art: check the signature, edition number, publisher or studio record, and any provenance or artist-issued paperwork identified in the listing.
- Signed memorabilia: look for the named authenticator, certificate or letter number, matching labels, and photographs of the supporting paperwork.
- Designer figures: review the edition, production details, box, markings, condition, and included materials. An original manufacturer NFC chip is separate from a gallery certificate.
- Space collectibles: distinguish astronaut signatures, mission memorabilia, and flown material. The listing should identify the evidence supporting the specific claim.
What documentation is included?
The product page identifies the paperwork and other materials recorded for that item. Depending on the piece, this may include an artist COA, a third-party certificate or letter of authenticity, publisher paperwork, original packaging, or provenance records. A certificate, digital record, or blockchain entry is included only where it is explicitly described for that item. We do not claim every item has the same authentication chain.
If documentation is not specified, ask us before purchasing. We can clarify what accompanies the piece and provide available close-up photographs of signatures, numbering, labels, certificates, packaging, or condition details.
Check a certificate or request evidence
Send the product link and any certificate number to the gallery or gauntletart@gmail.com. For third-party paperwork, compare the certificate number and item details with the issuing authenticator’s own records where available. A digital record documents information; it is not a substitute for the underlying authentication evidence.
