One of the most iconic images in the OBEY catalog: a soldier in profile, a red rose blooming from the barrel of his rifle — Fairey’s defining statement on peace overtaking violence, drawn from his celebrated Rose Soldier imagery first developed in the mid-2000s. The propaganda-poster composition, the OBEY star mandala on the sleeve, and the deep tactile letterpress impression on deckled cotton make this a cornerstone piece for any Fairey collection.

Shepard Fairey (b. 1970) is one of the most influential street artists of his generation — creator of the OBEY Giant campaign and the 2008 Obama “Hope” poster. His work is held in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Smithsonian, and LACMA.
