Offered here is a rare matching-number set of Shepard Fairey and Bob Gruen’s “Lennon Peace and Liberty”—the Red and Blue colorways, both numbered 108/300.

Fairey’s original illustration is based on Bob Gruen’s iconic photograph of John Lennon making the peace sign in front of the Statue of Liberty. The image connects Lennon’s music and peace activism with the ideals of liberty, immigration and personal freedom.

Each print is hand-signed in pencil by both Shepard Fairey and photographer Bob Gruen. Fairey also dated each print ’23. These are not signed by John Lennon.

A limited quantity of matching-number sets was offered during the original OBEY release. A portion of the original proceeds benefited the ACLU and the Statue of Liberty Foundation.

Both prints have been stored flat in protective portfolio sleeves. Please examine the actual photographs carefully for exact condition, signatures and edition numbers. Reflections and glare visible in some photographs come from the protective sleeves.
