Between The Lines 1
Summary
Between The Lines 1 is a 2010 giclee print by Kai & Sunny on 100% cotton Somerset Enhanced paper, issued in an edition of only 3. Unframed it measures 88 by 126.5 cm, and it is presented framed in black-stained oak at 103 by 142 cm, an imposing large-format entry in the duo's line-based abstraction.
Why It Matters
As the first in the Between The Lines sequence, this print anchors a titled series exploring interwoven linework and negative space. An edition of just 3 places it among Kai & Sunny's scarcest large-format works, where each impression is effectively a near-unique object.
Collector Perspective
With only three impressions in existence, availability is exceptionally thin. The commanding scale, archival Somerset paper, and studio oak framing make it a statement wall piece. Collectors valuing extreme scarcity and series completeness may pursue it alongside the two companion prints in the sequence.
Historical Context
Dated 2010, Between The Lines 1 belongs to Kai & Sunny's mature large-scale giclee practice, in which digital printing let them realise dense, intricate line fields at grand size. The three-part structure reflects their habit of building numbered sequences around a single visual idea.

Their editions are published in tightly controlled runs and have been exhibited internationally.
