Image and Composition

Red, black, and cream radiate around a group of standing figures with raised arms. A large title anchors the top, lightning-like diagonal shapes energize the sides, and a circular motif draws the eye toward the center. The lower portion carries the event information in closely organized bands. Read as a whole, the sheet brings the urgency of a rally poster to a concert setting.

Release History and Meaning

OBEY’s September 29 announcement connects the event with peace, justice, solidarity, and collective action. Fairey supplied its poster artwork and announced that he would also DJ at the festival. The artist’s online print release preceded the event by two days and was offered through OBEY Giant and the festival’s web store.

The work belongs naturally beside Fairey’s music and activism prints: the event supplies a specific date and place, while the composition emphasizes a shared public gesture. Keep the signed, numbered screenprint distinct from promotional reproductions that might reuse an event image. A matching picture alone does not establish the same paper, process, or edition.
