Summary

Wavy Days is a 2022 seven-colour hand-pulled screen print on 410gsm Somerset radiant white cotton, at a large 85 x 120 cm with a hand-deckled bottom edge. Signed and front-stamped in an edition of 75, it is the flagship large-format version of the flowing Wavy Days composition.

Why It Matters

Wavy Days is the definitive statement of a title Kai & Sunny returned to across multiple works, and its seven-colour build on a monumental sheet makes it one of their most richly constructed large prints. The undulating linework is central to the duo's abstract identity, delivered here at full scale.

Collector Perspective

At 85 x 120 cm and an edition of 75, this is a scarce, high-impact large-format work suited to serious wall space. The hand-deckled edge and front stamp are integral to its finish. Confirm signature (bottom left) and stamp (bottom right), and plan for flat storage. The 450-pound-plus release figure reflects issue price, not current value.

Historical Context

The 2022 Wavy Days established a motif the studio later reworked as the 2025 Wavy Days - Dot variant and folded into the Wavy Migration works. Its flowing wave forms distill Kai & Sunny's long fascination with wind, water, and natural rhythm into a single sweeping composition.

Beyond fine-art prints and installations, they have built a notable design career, including celebrated collaborations with author Ben Okri and cover artwork for Penguin's editions of J.G. Ballard. Their editions are published in tightly controlled runs and have been exhibited internationally.

What Kai & Sunny works should I collect?

Their signed, numbered silkscreen editions, often featuring metallic inks, blind embossing, and hand-finished detail, are the heart of the market. Foil and layered prints in small runs are especially collectible. Gauntlet Gallery selects pieces in pristine condition with crisp embossing and complete signing.

How is authenticity handled?

Kai & Sunny editions are offered with documented studio provenance and the duo's signature and numbering. We photograph the specific piece you will receive, including signature, edition number, and any embossing, so every detail is verifiable before you buy.
