Work Summary & Collector Notes

This 2016 Earth deck is a standalone Kai & Sunny skateboard on Featherlight 3 dyed veneer, 8.25 inches wide and roughly 80 x 20 cm, signed and released in an edition of just 10. It carries the duo's earth motif onto a functional board in a run far smaller than the colette collaboration.

Collector notes: First Edition; saved release record states an edition size of 10. The saved release record describes: signed. Verify each feature against a documented example of this edition.

Why It Matters

At only 10 copies, this Earth deck ranks among Kai & Sunny's scarcest skate editions. Its wider 8.25-inch face and standalone format distinguish it from the 100-set colette version, giving it particular appeal for collectors who prize the duo's most exclusive board releases.

Collector Perspective

With so few made, each Earth deck rarely appears, and condition, signature and provenance become central considerations. The 8.25-inch width is the key identifier separating this from the wider colette edition; the dyed veneer surface should be examined for wear.

Historical Context

Earth belongs to Kai & Sunny's recurring element-themed imagery of the mid-2010s. This single-digit 2016 edition reflects the artists' practice of issuing tiny, signed skate editions—treating the deck as a fully realized art object rather than merchandise.
