The artwork wording in a René Magritte BE@RBRICK title can identify a pair of references within one named release. A slash between artwork titles should not automatically be read as two separately purchasable figures.
Two manufacturer announcements make that distinction useful. Each documents a 100% and 400% configuration, but each names a different artwork pairing. Preserving that full pairing is more reliable than collecting a seller’s shortened “Magritte bear” label.
Keep both artwork names in the reference
The 2020 announcement pairs Infinite Recognition with The Castle of the Pyrenees in its title. It gives November 2020 planned sale wording and a ¥16,000 before-tax quote for the mixed-size configuration.
The other announcement pairs the source spellings “L’oiseau de ciel” and “La belle societe,” with 1965 in the artwork wording. It gives October 2021 planned release wording and a ¥17,600 tax-included quote.
Those dates have different jobs. The artwork-year wording remains part of the identity reference. The planned product timing belongs in the release schedule. Neither should be substituted for the other when you organize the figures chronologically.
A paired title needs a photograph, not an assumption
The presence of two artwork names does not tell you, by itself, how they are arranged across the finished product. Use the exact source images to understand that treatment. Avoid assigning one artwork to one nominal size merely because a mixed-size set contains two bears.
The first pair’s detail and second pair’s detail in the BE@RBRICK Master Index keep the reference identities available while you compare photographs.
If you are writing a caption for your collection, preserve the source’s title transcription. A familiar translated title or alternate spelling can be added as an alias. Quietly correcting the manufacturer’s wording from memory can make your notes harder to match to the actual announcement.
For a discussion of the original paintings, use the relevant institutional artwork records. The product page identifies its named references, but it is not a substitute for a complete art-historical source on each work.
Choose a collecting boundary that fits the evidence
You might collect one Magritte reference you particularly enjoy, both paired-title sets, or a group of artist-related figures in one nominal size. Define the target accordingly. A seller offering only a larger component is offering a different set of contents from the original mixed-size package.
The historical price comparison also needs care: one quote excludes tax and the other includes it. Their raw amounts are not a like-for-like measure of present demand or manufacturing cost. Keep both tax labels with any table you make.
Neither source supplies a production quantity for a numerical rarity claim. The titles and documented purchase configurations are already enough to explain why these are separate collecting targets.
Save the complete artwork pair, nominal sizes, and official source with the figure you choose. That record will still be understandable when a future seller uses a shorter translation, omits an accent, or drops half the title.
