Robert Indiana appears in a standalone LOVE BE@RBRICK title and in a Robert Indiana × fragmentdesign title. A collector interested in the name should preserve both product identities before comparing formats or prices.
These two examples are particularly useful because their original quoted amounts match while their announced purchase configurations differ. The amount alone cannot tell you which one you are considering.
The title changes the target
Medicom’s Robert Indiana LOVE 400% page specifies one approximately 280 mm figure, an October 2023 planned release, and a ¥17,600 tax-included distribution quote.
The Robert Indiana × fragmentdesign BLACK page specifies a 100% and 400% configuration, approximately 70 and 280 mm, and the same ¥17,600 tax-included quote. Its announcement identifies a July 23, 2024 planned release in the context of Medicom Toy Exhibition 2024.
One reference is a standalone 400% product. The other is a named crossover set. Treating both as “Indiana 400% at the same price” would hide the smaller component and the different product wording.
Keep the color designation with the crossover
The BLACK label belongs in a precise reference to the fragmentdesign example. Its source also describes WHITE and BLACK color options, but that does not mean the BLACK purchase includes both colors. Available options and pack contents are separate pieces of information.
Use the LOVE detail and the BLACK crossover detail in the BE@RBRICK Master Index as individual targets. If you broaden your research to the other color, create a separate reference rather than treating color as a free-form note on an otherwise identical purchase.
A personal collection can connect the two through Indiana’s name, through an artwork interest, or through fragmentdesign. Make that connection explicit in your notes. The manufacturer title supplies the documented association; your collecting category supplies the reason they belong together for you.
Compare the right object in a seller’s offer
A seller offering only the larger crossover component may omit the smaller piece from the transaction. Ask about contents before comparing that offer with a complete set or with the standalone LOVE release. The presence of a 400% figure in all three situations does not make the transactions equivalent.
The original prices cannot settle the current buying decision. They describe historical announced purchase units, with tax included. They do not establish a resale floor or a manufacturer-confirmed US MSRP.
Nor should the exhibition context be converted into a production count. It identifies a documented occasion and sales setting. The source does not give a numerical edition size for you to put into a rarity table.
For a display decision, compare actual photographs of the exact versions. For a documentation decision, retain the full title, color, nominal size, and original configuration. Those fields let you explain why two Indiana-related acquisitions can be connected without treating them as substitutes.
The practical lesson from these records is visible before any market analysis: an identical original amount can describe a different package. Establish the identity and contents first, then decide which target fits your collection.
