Condition Grading Guide
Condition is one of the largest drivers of value, confidence, and return risk. This guide standardizes the language used across Gauntlet Gallery listings so collectors can compare pieces consistently.
Gauntlet Gallery Condition Scale
| Grade | Use When | Typical Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mint | Unopened, pristine, or materially indistinguishable from new. | No visible handling, wear, creasing, fading, or packaging defects. |
| Near Mint | Clean collector-grade condition with only minor handling signs. | Light surface handling, tiny edge touch, or minor packaging rub. |
| Excellent | Strong display condition with disclosed minor flaws. | Minor corner wear, light surface marks, small frame scuffs, or packaging wear. |
| Very Good | Attractive but clearly handled or aged. | Visible edge wear, toning, creasing, box wear, or small non-structural defects. |
| Good | Collectible value remains, but condition issues are meaningful. | Noticeable damage, restoration, missing packaging, fading, tears, or heavy wear. |
