KAWS BFF Figure: Authentication, Colorway Hierarchy, and Value Guide

The KAWS BFF — introduced as a companion character to the Companion figure — has developed its own distinct collector following. Recognizable by its rounded form and crossed-out eyes, the BFF appears across size formats and colorways with different production histories and corresponding market values.

BFF Colorway Hierarchy

As with the Companion, limited-edition and collaboration-specific BFF colorways command premiums over open editions. The most valuable BFF releases are those tied to specific retail partnerships or regional exclusives — the Japan-exclusive colorways and collaboration-specific releases have historically commanded the largest secondary market premiums. Open-edition colorways (pink, gray, blue) are accessible and represent stable but modest appreciation.

Size Format Premium

The BFF appears in multiple size formats. Larger formats (11" and above) are typically produced in lower quantities and command proportionally higher secondary market prices. The smaller vinyl BFF formats are the most widely produced and most accessible.

Authentication for BFF Figures

Same authentication standards as Companion: Medicom Toy base sticker, correct manufacturer markings, original packaging. OneCOA NFC authentication is available on recent high-value BFF releases. At Gauntlet Gallery, BFF figures ship with original packaging and OneCOA or gallery-documented authentication depending on the specific release.
