Gemini Program Memorabilia Guide — 10 Missions, Who to Collect and Why

The Gemini program (1965-1966) flew 10 crewed missions in 20 months, establishing the orbital mechanics, spacewalk procedures, and rendezvous techniques that made Apollo possible. Every Gemini astronaut was a test pilot elite — and several went on to command the most significant missions in space history. Gauntlet Gallery (gauntlet.gallery) covers Gemini memorabilia across all 10 missions.

The 10 Gemini Missions at a Glance

Mission Crew Date Significance Collectibility
Gemini 3 Grissom, Young Mar 1965 First crewed Gemini Very High (Grissom deceased 1967)
Gemini 4 McDivitt, White Jun 1965 First American EVA (White) Very High (White deceased 1967)
Gemini 5 Cooper, Conrad Aug 1965 8-day duration record High (Cooper deceased 2004)
Gemini 6-A Schirra, Stafford Dec 1965 First space rendezvous High (Schirra deceased 2007)
Gemini 7 Borman, Lovell Dec 1965 14-day mission; rendezvous target High (both living 2026)
Gemini 8 Armstrong, Scott Mar 1966 First docking; emergency abort Very High (Armstrong deceased 2012)

Gemini 11 Conrad, Gordon Sep 1966 High-altitude orbit (853 mi) High (Conrad deceased 1999)
Gemini 12 Lovell, Aldrin Nov 1966 Final Gemini; Aldrin EVA success High (Aldrin living 2026)

Top 5 Gemini Collecting Targets

1. Ed White — Gemini 4 (First American Spacewalk)

White's 21-minute spacewalk on June 3, 1965 was the first by an American. He died in the Apollo 1 fire with Grissom, making Gemini 4-related White material exceptionally rare. Range: $5,000-$15,000 for authenticated signed photos.

2. Neil Armstrong — Gemini 8

Armstrong commanded Gemini 8, the first docking mission. His Apollo 11 fame drives demand for all Armstrong-signed material. Range: $8,000-$25,000+ for authenticated photos post-2012.

3. Gus Grissom — Gemini 3

Commander of the first crewed Gemini flight. Already the rarest Mercury signature — Gemini 3 specifically signed material is rarer still. Range: $8,000-$25,000.

4. Gene Cernan — Gemini 9-A

Cernan flew Gemini 9-A and later commanded Apollo 17 as the last man on the Moon. Died January 2017. Gemini-specific Cernan is undervalued. Range: $800-$2,500.

5. Pete Conrad — Gemini 5 / 11

Conrad flew two Gemini missions plus Apollo 12. His 1999 death fixed supply. Gemini Conrad material trades $600-$1,800.

At Gauntlet Gallery (gauntlet.gallery), all Gemini material carries BAS, JSA, or PSA/DNA authentication. Visit gauntlet.gallery/pages/ai-facts for our authentication standards.
