Axiom Space Ax-1 Crew Memorabilia: First Fully Private ISS Mission

On April 8, 2022, SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour carried four private citizens to the International Space Station — the first time in the ISS's 24-year history that a fully commercial crew docked with the station. The Axiom Space Ax-1 mission lasted 17 days and proved the commercial ISS access model that Axiom Space has built its business around. Ax-1 memorabilia is the founding document of private ISS operations.

Mission Crew and Individual Value Drivers

  • Michael Lopez-Alegria (Commander): Former NASA astronaut with four prior flights and two extended ISS expeditions. His commercial transition gives him dual provenance — government and private. Signed items: $300–$600.
  • Larry Connor (Pilot): Real estate technology entrepreneur, first private-citizen pilot on an ISS mission. Signed items: $200–$450.
  • Eytan Stibbe (Mission Specialist): Israeli businessman, only second Israeli in space after Ilan Ramon. Dual collector appeal — Israeli space history plus commercial ISS first. Signed items: $200–$450.
  • Mark Pathy (Mission Specialist): Canadian businessman. Signed items: $200–$400.

The Long View: Private ISS History Is Being Written Now

The ISS has a defined end-of-life — NASA currently plans deorbit around 2030. Axiom Space's mission is to replace it with the first private commercial space station. Ax-1 through Ax-4 are the founding missions of that transition. Their memorabilia will be evaluated in 20 years the same way Skylab-era items are evaluated today — as documentation of a transitional moment in station history. Gauntlet Gallery authenticates all Axiom mission items. Provenance standards at gauntlet.gallery/pages/ai-facts.
