Commanded Blossom (Timed Edition)
Summary
Commanded Blossom (edition TT5-2) pairs Damien Hirst with Shepard Fairey in a HENI Editions collaboration. A gloss Diasec-mounted giclee on aluminium composite panel at 120 x 96 cm, it is numbered and hand-signed on the label by both Shepard Fairey and Damien Hirst, in a tight edition of 97, uniting Hirst's blossom imagery with Fairey's graphic sensibility.
Why It Matters
At just 97 examples, this is the scarce counterpart to its sibling release, and the Hirst-Fairey pairing joins two of the most collected names in contemporary and street art. The low edition size combined with the dual signature makes it a standout among recent collaborative blossom works.
Collector Perspective
The edition of 97 is the decisive factor: markedly scarcer than its 592-piece companion, it concentrates demand from both Hirst and Fairey collectors onto very few panels. The dual hand-signature on the label documents the collaboration directly, and the small run heightens its desirability within the pair.
Historical Context
Shepard Fairey, of OBEY GIANT fame, has an extensive edition history and a devoted following, while Hirst's blossom motif has driven multiple recent HENI programs. Their collaboration continues a broader trend of pairing fine-art and street-art figures within a single authenticated multiple.

About the Artist
Damien Hirst (born 1965, Bristol) is a British artist and the most prominent figure of the Young British Artists (YBAs). Rising to fame in the late 1980s and 1990s, he built a practice around mortality, science, religion, and beauty — from formaldehyde-preserved animals to his Spot, Spin, and Butterfly (Kaleidoscope) series. Hirst is also one of the most prolific printmakers in contemporary art, releasing extensive signed editions through his own science-led studio and, more recently, the HENI imprint. His work has commanded record prices and defined the market for blue-chip contemporary editions.

Which Damien Hirst prints should I collect?
Signed, numbered editions from his signature series — Spots, Butterflies/Kaleidoscope, Spins, Cherry Blossoms, and skull works — are the collectible core. Look for strong condition and the artist's pencil signature. Gauntlet Gallery prioritizes complete, well-documented impressions.
How is a Hirst print authenticated?
We sell Hirst works with documented provenance and the edition's signature and numbering; many carry HENI or studio documentation. Each piece is photographed exactly as it ships, including signature and edition details.
What drives value?
Series and image (iconic Spots and Butterflies lead), edition size, format and scale, condition, and provenance all drive value. Hand-signed, low-numbered, and diamond-dust or foilblock works command premiums.
