Summary

'Dog Save The Queen' is a 2021 collaborative sculpture edition between D*Face and Medicom Toy, released through StolenSpace to mark the Queen's 95th birthday. Standing 15 inches (38cm) in high-quality polystone, sculpted by Perfect Studio, each piece is signed by the artist and housed in a bespoke box, in an edition of 100.

Why It Matters

Sculptures translate D*Face's flat comic imagery into three dimensions, and a Medicom Toy partnership brings the collectible-figure world's production standards to the piece. The Queen's-birthday theme and D*Dog motif give it a specific occasion and character. At an edition of 100, it is one of his scarcer objects.

Collector Perspective

Collectors of designer art toys value the Medicom collaboration, the polystone build, the artist signature, and crucially the original custom box, which strongly affects desirability for sculptural editions. The edition of 100 makes it notably limited. Condition of paint and packaging is central to appraisal for pieces like this.

Historical Context

Medicom Toy is a benchmark name in art-toy production, and its collaborations with street artists carry weight in the collectible-figure market. Released for Queen Elizabeth II's 95th birthday in 2021 via StolenSpace, this piece blends British satirical wit with D*Face's D*Dog character, a recurring figure in his sculptural work.

About the Artist

D*Face is the working name of Dean Stockton (born 1978, London), a British street artist and a leading figure in the UK urban-contemporary scene. Drawing on comic books, pop art, skate graphics, and consumer iconography, he developed a signature cast of characters — winged "D*Dog" motifs, skull-faced pin-ups, and subverted Americana — rendered in bold, Lichtenstein-indebted lines. From stickers and street work in the early 2000s, he built a substantial studio practice of paintings, sculpture, and signed prints, founded the StolenSpace Gallery in London, and has collaborated widely across music and fashion.

Collecting D*Face at Gauntlet Gallery

Which D*Face works should I collect?

His signed, numbered screenprints — especially hand-finished and low-edition works — are the collectible core, prized for bold pop imagery. Look for clean condition and the artist's signature. Gauntlet Gallery prioritizes complete, well-documented impressions.

How is a D*Face piece authenticated?

We sell his works with documented provenance and the edition's signature and numbering. Each piece is photographed as-is, including signature and edition details, so you can verify before purchase.

What drives value?

Edition size, hand-embellishment, iconic imagery, condition, and provenance all shape value. Low-numbered, hand-finished, and larger works command the strongest premiums.
