Murdoc Niccals — Spacesuit Edition

Premium Vinyl Collectible Figure • Brand New in Box • Factory Sealed Mint Condition • Sealed Outer Wrap • Inner Clamshell Intact

What You Are Getting

An authentic Superplastic x Gorillaz Murdoc Niccals figure in the Cracker Island spacesuit edition — the bassist and self-styled leader of the world’s most famous virtual band, rendered in detailed cast vinyl with the signature green skin and a fully sculpted astronaut suit drawn directly from the band’s 2023 album visuals. The piece is brand new in box, still in its factory outer plastic wrap, with the inner clear PET clamshell fully sealed around the figure.

The figure is a striking object on its own merits: high-gloss green pressure suit with white articulated joint rings, a clear dome helmet revealing Murdoc’s sneering portrait, an integrated backpack with a red-eye antenna, and the surveillance-camera detailing across the chest, helmet, and limbs that runs as a visual motif through Gorillaz’ entire body of work. A clear display stand is included to support the dynamic mid-stride pose.

Original retail box features the official Cracker Island–era Murdoc artwork against an Earth-and-moon backdrop, with full Superplastic and Gorillaz licensing marks intact. This is the right piece for a serious Gorillaz collector, a Superplastic completist, or any designer toy collection that values premium vinyl with real artistic provenance behind it.

About the Work

Released in support of Cracker Island, Gorillaz’ 2023 album themed around a fictional Silver Lake cult called The Last Cult of the Sun, the Murdoc spacesuit figure translates the album’s visual world into a fully sculpted object. The spacesuit motif runs through the entire Cracker Island campaign, from the album’s artwork by co-creator Jamie Hewlett through the music videos for “New Gold,” “Baby Queen,” and the title track. Of the four band members, Murdoc is the most visually distinct, and his green-skinned portrait inside a clear dome helmet has become one of the most reproduced Gorillaz images of this era.

Superplastic’s execution holds up to close inspection: the suit’s green is a clean high-gloss finish that matches Hewlett’s flat-color illustration style, the white articulated rings on the arms and legs reference real-world Apollo and Soyuz suit construction, and the recurring red-pupil camera and antenna details thread Murdoc’s long-running surveillance and paranoia themes into a wearable, displayable form. The piece reads equally well as a band collectible and as a stand-alone designer art toy.

Sealed Superplastic Gorillaz figures from the Cracker Island series have appreciated steadily on the secondary market as the album’s run wound down and inventory tightened. Brand-new examples with the outer factory wrap still intact are increasingly difficult to source.

About the Collaborators

Gorillaz is the virtual band created in 1998 by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and Tank Girl illustrator Jamie Hewlett. With over 35 million records sold, Grammy wins, six studio albums, and headline appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella, and Lollapalooza, Gorillaz remain the most commercially and culturally successful animated act in popular music history. The band’s four members — 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs — have a continuous canonical backstory developed across album cycles, music videos, comics, and short films.

Superplastic is the designer toy company founded by Paul Budnitz, who previously co-founded Kidrobot. Based in Los Angeles, the company produces premium vinyl figures in collaboration with major artists and entertainment brands including Gorillaz, J Balvin, Janky, and Guggimon. Superplastic releases are produced in limited runs and are widely collected alongside other premium designer toy lines such as KAWS, Medicom, BE@RBRICK, and Mighty Jaxx.
