Medicom Toy | Project Mercury | Space Exploration Collection | 1000%
Celebrate the dawn of American human spaceflight with the extraordinary BE@RBRICK Project Mercury Astronaut 1000%, a monumental designer collectible inspired by NASA's pioneering Mercury space program.
Created by Japanese collectible manufacturer Medicom Toy, this oversized BE@RBRICK merges one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary designer toy culture with the history of America's first astronauts.
Standing approximately 27.5 inches (70 cm) tall, this statement piece is an exceptional addition to any designer toy, aerospace memorabilia, or contemporary art collection.
Project Mercury: The Beginning of American Human Spaceflight
Before Apollo landed astronauts on the Moon and before the Space Shuttle became a symbol of reusable spaceflight, there was Project Mercury.
Launched in 1958, Project Mercury was NASA's first human spaceflight program. Its mission was ambitious: send an American into space, achieve orbital flight, and return the astronaut safely to Earth.
The program introduced the legendary Mercury Seven astronauts, including Alan Shepard, John Glenn, and Gus Grissom, whose pioneering missions helped establish the foundation for the Gemini and Apollo programs.
In 1961, Alan Shepard became the first American in space. Less than a year later, John Glenn became the first American to orbit Earth.
This BE@RBRICK pays tribute to that extraordinary era of exploration.
