The verso carries the official Dismaland Bemusement Park stamp, the edition number "2/15" handwritten in marker, and a hand inscription reading "BANKSY IN DISMAL!!" — the same in-show notation seen on other documented numbered Dismaland canvases. The image itself is sharp, with crisp stencil edges on the figure and a vivid red ombre across the heart stream.

About the Image
The image is one of the most emotionally direct compositions in the Banksy-stencil tradition: a hooded young figure caught mid-purge, doubled over and expelling a cascading stream of red hearts. It is variously known among collectors as "Lovesick," "Vomiting Hearts," or "Heart Sick" — a visual punchline about love rendered with the same dark wit that defines Banksy's broader catalogue. The composition's contrast is the entire point: a monochrome figure in motion, anchored only by a single saturated red detail that escapes the body.
The piece sits cleanly inside Banksy's recurring meditation on hearts and balloons as symbols at once sincere and ironic — alongside Girl with Balloon, Love Is in the Air (the Flower Thrower), and the various heart-balloon variants. Of all the Dismaland souvenir canvases, the heart-themed compositions have proven among the most collectible because they read instantly as Banksy at a glance, even to viewers unfamiliar with the broader Dismaland project.
About Dismaland
Dismaland was Banksy's audacious dystopian theme-park installation, staged in secret inside a derelict seafront lido in Weston-super-Mare, England. It opened on 21 August 2015 and ran for just five weeks, closing on 27 September 2015. Marketed as a "bemusement park," it featured contributions from 58 artists including Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer, David Shrigley, Jeff Gillette, and Banksy himself, alongside a derelict Cinderella's castle, a riot-themed bumper-car ride, and the now-iconic dilapidated mermaid.
The exhibition was a cultural phenomenon. Tickets sold out within minutes of release, with the site's servers repeatedly crashing under demand. Local economists later estimated Dismaland generated approximately £20 million for the Weston-super-Mare economy during its short run, and the park reportedly drew over 150,000 visitors. After closing, the materials were dismantled and shipped to the Calais migrant camp to construct shelters — a final political gesture entirely in keeping with the show's tone.
Inside the park gift shop, Banksy's production team offered a small range of souvenir items, the most coveted of which were the "Dismal Canvases": hand-sprayed stencils on small primed canvases featuring Banksy motifs. Each was sold for a few pounds at the gate. Numbered editions like this 2/15 example were produced in significantly smaller quantities than the standard unnumbered canvases — making them substantially scarcer on the secondary market. Today, these canvases trade for hundreds to several thousand dollars depending on edition status, image, and provenance completeness.
About Banksy
Banksy is the pseudonym of an anonymous England-based street artist, political activist, and film director, active since the 1990s and widely considered the most commercially successful and culturally influential street artist of his generation. His satirical stencil works have appeared on walls in cities across the world — from Bristol to the West Bank to New York — and have transformed the global perception of graffiti from vandalism into blue-chip art.

How do you document condition?
We photograph each print under consistent lighting to show the actual paper, frame condition, ink saturation, and any aging or edge wear. Condition notes describe observable marks, foxing, deckle wear, or print aging in specific terms — not vague labels like "good." If a piece has a flaw that affects collectibility or value, we say so explicitly. Request additional close-ups before purchase.
How is the print packed and shipped?
Prints ship flat between two acid-free rigid boards inside a corrugated outer mailer with rigid corner protection. Larger prints over 24×30 may ship rolled inside a thick-walled tube with archival tissue. All shipments are insured for full value with tracked carrier service. Framed pieces ship in custom-cut wood crates with foam edge protection. Signature on delivery required over $500.
What documentation is included?
