Summary

Sticker Sheet is a 2011 four-color screenprint on vinyl paper, comprising 9 precut stickers on a single 33 x 23 cm sheet, signed and numbered in an edition of 60. It packages Invader's mosaic motifs in the format that seeded street-art culture.

Why It Matters

Stickers are foundational to street art's DIY propagation, and this signed sheet formalizes that raw medium into a collectible. It captures the grassroots, get-up ethos at the root of Invader's practice while remaining, in signed form, an edition object rather than something meant purely for the street.

Collector Perspective

With just 60 signed sheets and precut stickers that invite use, intact examples are inherently scarce, since the format tempts application. Collectors should prioritize complete, unpeeled sheets. The vinyl screenprint and low edition size make a pristine, fully signed sheet a genuinely uncommon survivor of an ephemeral medium.

Historical Context

Issued in 2011, the Sticker Sheet reflects the sticker-bombing tradition central to street art since the 1990s. By signing and numbering a run of 60, Invader bridged the disposable culture of stickers and the collector market, a move typical of how graffiti-rooted artists formalized their vernacular.

FAQ

How many stickers are on the sheet?

Nine precut stickers on a single 33 x 23 cm sheet, screenprinted in four colors on vinyl paper.

Why is it considered scarce?

The edition is only 60, and because the stickers are precut and usable, intact unpeeled sheets are especially hard to find.

Is it signed?

Yes, the sheet is signed and numbered by the artist in an edition of 60.

About the Artist

Invader (born 1969, France) is a pseudonymous French urban artist known for installing mosaic works inspired by 1970s-80s arcade video games, most famously the aliens from Space Invaders. Since the late 1990s he has "invaded" cities worldwide, cementing tile mosaics onto walls and mapping each installation as part of a global game. His studio output extends the pixel aesthetic into prints, "Rubikcubism" works made from Rubik's Cubes, aluminum pieces, and alias-signed editions. He remains anonymous, appearing publicly only masked.

Collecting Invader at Gauntlet Gallery

What Invader works can I collect?

Beyond street mosaics, Invader releases signed, numbered editions — screenprints, giclées, aluminum and Rubikcubism works — plus his "Invasion Kits." Signed and numbered studio editions are the collectible core. Gauntlet Gallery focuses on complete, well-preserved impressions with documentation.

How is an Invader piece authenticated?

We sell Invader works with documented provenance and the edition's signature and numbering. Each piece is photographed exactly as it ships, including signature and edition details, so you can verify before buying.

What drives value?

Medium (unique Rubikcubism and aluminum works over open prints), edition size, iconic imagery, condition, and provenance all shape price. Hand-made and low-numbered pieces command the strongest premiums.
