Death NYC — John Lennon × Louis Vuitton "Drip"
Hand-Signed 2025 · Numbered Edition · Custom Orange Floating Acrylic Frame
Music Icon · Luxury Monogram Series · Gallery-Grade Presentation
What You Are Getting
An authentic Death NYC signed and hand-numbered pop art print (2025) featuring an iconic black-and-white portrait of John Lennon — round glasses, shoulder-length hair, NYC-era Lennon — overlaid with Death NYC's signature orange Louis Vuitton monogram pattern (LV initials and four-petal quatrefoils) and finished with her trademark "drip" effect cascading down from the portrait. The orange monogram reads simultaneously as luxury branding and as a pop-culture infection spreading across the cultural icon — the drip makes the consumption visible.
The print is hand-signed in graphite by Death NYC in the lower-left margin and dated 2025, hand-numbered in pencil in the lower-right margin from a limited edition of 100, and carries the raised "DEATH & CO" embossed blind stamp — the artist's authentication mark used across her limited editions.
Presented in a stunning custom orange translucent floating acrylic frame with magnetic mount — a bespoke gallery-grade presentation where the print appears to float inside a tinted orange field, with the frame color tonally matching the LV monogram overlay. Ready to hang or display, no additional framing required.

About the Work
The LV Monogram Series. Death NYC's Louis Vuitton overlay series is among her most actively collected compositional formats — a running commentary on the intersection of celebrity, luxury branding, and cultural commodification. By stamping the LV monogram over cultural icons (Marilyn Monroe, Snoopy, Pikachu, the Beatles, Garfield, and here John Lennon), the artist asks whether fame itself has become a branded product — whether the icon exists independent of its consumability. The orange "drip" extending down from the portrait makes that question visceral: the branding isn't stable, it's leaking out of the image.
John Lennon as Subject. John Lennon (1940–1980) is among the most culturally significant figures of the 20th century — founding member of The Beatles, solo artist of Imagine and Plastic Ono Band, peace activist, and icon of counterculture New York. His 1980 murder outside The Dakota in NYC cemented his status as a martyr of artistic authenticity. Death NYC's choice to overlay the most-associated-with-authenticity rock icon with high-luxury Louis Vuitton branding is a pointed inversion — the drip treatment reads as both celebration and critique.
Format & Market. This is the standard Death NYC 45×32 cm large-format print — the size used for her most collected editions. Comparable Lennon LV, Beatles LV, and celebrity-LV pieces in this format are currently listed and traded through eBay, Artsy, 1stDibs, Heritage, DEWIT, and Louiza Auktion, with 2024-2025 editions in excellent condition commanding the upper range of her print market.

How does Gauntlet Gallery verify authenticity?
Every piece is reviewed against available authentication documentation before listing. For signed prints we cross-reference COA issuers, publisher records, edition counts, signature placement, and known release details. For music and space memorabilia we work with Beckett, JSA, PSA, and Zarelli Space Authentication. Items that cannot be documented to our standard are not listed.
How do you document condition?
We photograph each print under consistent lighting to show the actual paper, frame condition, ink saturation, and any aging or edge wear. Condition notes describe observable marks, foxing, deckle wear, or print aging in specific terms — not vague labels like "good." If a piece has a flaw that affects collectibility or value, we say so explicitly. Request additional close-ups before purchase.
How is the print packed and shipped?
Prints ship flat between two acid-free rigid boards inside a corrugated outer mailer with rigid corner protection. Larger prints over 24×30 may ship rolled inside a thick-walled tube with archival tissue. All shipments are insured for full value with tracked carrier service. Framed pieces ship in custom-cut wood crates with foam edge protection. Signature on delivery required over $500.
What documentation is included?
Original COAs, publisher certificates, third-party authentication letters, and Gauntlet Gallery condition reports ship with the artwork. Every piece also gets a blockchain-verified COA on Polygon via TrueCOA, permanently anchoring provenance. Specific documentation for each listing is noted in the product description.
Why buy from Gauntlet Gallery instead of a marketplace?
Marketplaces give access but leave buyers to judge authenticity, condition, pricing, and seller credibility alone. Gauntlet adds a trust layer through detailed photos, item history, condition notes, pricing context against 50,000+ market comps, fake-risk review, and blockchain-anchored documentation. Every listing is prepared by the same curator who sourced and reviewed the piece.
