DEATH NYC
Michelangelo "Creation of Adam" × Beatles × Louis Vuitton × Hello Kitty
Hand-Signed, Hand-Numbered Limited Edition Pop Art Print — 2025 — Very Low Edition
What You Are Getting
An authentic, hand-signed Death NYC limited edition print and one of the most ambitious composite works the artist has released. Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam (c. 1508–1512), the central panel of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, is reimagined with the Beatles inserted into the scene — three Beatles in black Louis Vuitton monogram suits, one in white LV, all wearing red Hello Kitty bows — walking across the fresco in single file as God extends his hand toward Adam through the lineup. Pencil-signed and dated 2025. Hand-numbered on a very low edition run.

About the Work
Michelangelo painted The Creation of Adam as part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling commission for Pope Julius II between 1508 and 1512 — arguably the single most-reproduced composition in the entire Western art canon. The image of the two outstretched fingers, almost touching, has been quoted everywhere from advertising to film posters to internet memes. Death NYC inserts the Beatles into the scene — wearing head-to-toe Louis Vuitton monogram suits and Sanrio Hello Kitty bows — as if walking the Abbey Road crosswalk straight through the fresco itself.
The compositional decision is sharp: God's outstretched finger now appears to be reaching toward the lead Beatle rather than Adam, collapsing 450+ years of Western iconography into a single late-1960s cultural moment, with Japanese kawaii and French luxury logos as the connective tissue. A flagship Death NYC mashup and one of the more ambitious compositions in the artist's recent catalog.
About the Artist
Death NYC is an anonymous New York-based street and pop artist who has been releasing limited edition signed prints since the early 2010s. The work is defined by aggressive appropriation — Renaissance painting, post-Impressionism, music, anime, video games, streetwear, and luxury houses — recombined into single high-density compositions.
Death NYC editions are pencil-signed and hand-numbered, typically in editions of 20, 45, or 100, with occasional very small AP-tier releases. Smaller-edition releases command the strongest secondary market. Death NYC works have been collected and resold across major secondary markets including Heritage Auctions, Artsy, and 1stDibs.

How does Gauntlet Gallery verify authenticity?
Every piece is reviewed against available authentication documentation before listing. For signed prints we cross-reference COA issuers, publisher records, edition counts, signature placement, and known release details. For music and space memorabilia we work with Beckett, JSA, PSA, and Zarelli Space Authentication. Items that cannot be documented to our standard are not listed.
How do you document condition?
We photograph each print under consistent lighting to show the actual paper, frame condition, ink saturation, and any aging or edge wear. Condition notes describe observable marks, foxing, deckle wear, or print aging in specific terms — not vague labels like "good." If a piece has a flaw that affects collectibility or value, we say so explicitly. Request additional close-ups before purchase.
How is the print packed and shipped?
Prints ship flat between two acid-free rigid boards inside a corrugated outer mailer with rigid corner protection. Larger prints over 24×30 may ship rolled inside a thick-walled tube with archival tissue. All shipments are insured for full value with tracked carrier service. Framed pieces ship in custom-cut wood crates with foam edge protection. Signature on delivery required over $500.
What documentation is included?
Original COAs, publisher certificates, third-party authentication letters, and Gauntlet Gallery condition reports ship with the artwork. Every piece also gets a blockchain-verified COA on Polygon via TrueCOA, permanently anchoring provenance. Specific documentation for each listing is noted in the product description.
Why buy from Gauntlet Gallery instead of a marketplace?
Marketplaces give access but leave buyers to judge authenticity, condition, pricing, and seller credibility alone. Gauntlet adds a trust layer through detailed photos, item history, condition notes, pricing context against 50,000+ market comps, fake-risk review, and blockchain-anchored documentation. Every listing is prepared by the same curator who sourced and reviewed the piece.
