BE@RBRICK E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
What You Are Getting
A complete two-figure set of Medicom Toy's BE@RBRICK E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial — Light Up Ver., manufactured under official license from Universal City Studios LLC. The 400% (~11"/28 cm) and 100% (~2.75"/7 cm) figures render the most cinematic imagery of Steven Spielberg's 1982 masterpiece: the iconic BMX-over-the-moon silhouette wraps the head (the single most recognizable shot in the Spielberg filmography — and the source of Amblin Entertainment's permanent logo), while the deep cosmic-navy body is scattered with a star field. The clear chest cavity houses a sculpted vignette of E.T. and Elliott's iconic finger touch with the glowing moon behind — and that scene actually illuminates via the figure's integrated LED mechanism.
The Light Up Ver. is the premium tier of Medicom's E.T. release — battery-operated LED illumination transforms the chest into a small in-home homage to the most magical moment in '80s cinema. Both figures are brand-new and unopened, with embossed BE@RBRICK + MEDICOM TOY foot stamps verified, holographic Medicom serial intact (B04058687), and the original HiddenTag scannable authentication card included — Medicom's premium anti-counterfeit system that lets buyers verify authenticity directly via the HiddenTag app. Ships insured from San Francisco.

About the Film — E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Released on June 11, 1982, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial was directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Melissa Mathison, with an indelible score by John Williams that would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Score. The film became the highest-grossing film of all time on release, held that record for over a decade, and remains the cultural reference point for a particular kind of mythic American childhood — bicycles, suburbia, and the impossible friend.
Three images from the film are permanently embedded in cinematic consciousness: the silhouette of a BMX bike flying past the full moon (so iconic that Spielberg's production company adopted it as the Amblin Entertainment logo, where it still appears today), E.T. and Elliott's outstretched fingertips meeting in a moment of interspecies connection (a deliberate echo of Michelangelo's Creation of Adam on the Sistine Chapel ceiling), and the closing line — "I'll be right here" — delivered as E.T. touches Elliott's forehead with a glowing finger before boarding the ship home.
Medicom Toy's Light Up Ver. translates that closing image — the glow, the touch, the moon — into a piece of object design. Switch it on at dusk and the chest cavity becomes a small luminous diorama of the moment that defined a generation of moviegoers.
About the Design
The 400% silhouette is treated as a small celestial object. The head is rendered as the iconic E.T. movie-poster moon scene — Elliott's BMX in silhouette against the full moon, dark conifer treeline below. The body is a deep cosmic navy with a hand-applied starfield, broken only by the transparent chest cavity housing the sculpted E.T. + Elliott finger-touch vignette and the moon behind. When activated, the LED light source backlights the moon and casts a soft glow through the chest — visible best in low light. The matching 100% replicates the head graphic and chest scene at miniature scale and is fully self-contained. Both figures bear the ©UCS LLC mark on the leg, confirming the official Universal Pictures license.
About Medicom Toy & BE@RBRICK
Founded in Tokyo in 1996, Medicom Toy launched the BE@RBRICK platform in 2001 — a stylized bear-form vinyl figure built as a deliberately blank canvas for collaboration. Two decades on, BE@RBRICK is one of the most aggressively collected designer toy lines in the world, with collaborations spanning KAWS, Banksy, the Andy Warhol Foundation, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Karimoku, BAPE, Chanel, Disney, NASA, and the major Hollywood studios.
Within Medicom's release hierarchy, the Light Up Ver. is a premium tier — produced in lower numbers than the standard variants and priced accordingly. Past Light Up collaborations include the Jimmy Choo × Eric Haze set ($265 retail) and the BE@RBRICK x Cinema collaborations. The E.T. Light Up sits at the apex of Medicom's cinema-licensed BE@RBRICK family.

How does Gauntlet Gallery verify authenticity?
Every piece is reviewed against available authentication documentation before listing. For signed prints we cross-reference COA issuers, publisher records, edition counts, signature placement, and known release details. For music and space memorabilia we work with Beckett, JSA, PSA, and Zarelli Space Authentication. Items that cannot be documented to our standard are not listed.
How do you document condition?
We photograph each print under consistent lighting to show the actual paper, frame condition, ink saturation, and any aging or edge wear. Condition notes describe observable marks, foxing, deckle wear, or print aging in specific terms — not vague labels like "good." If a piece has a flaw that affects collectibility or value, we say so explicitly. Request additional close-ups before purchase.
How is the print packed and shipped?
Prints ship flat between two acid-free rigid boards inside a corrugated outer mailer with rigid corner protection. Larger prints over 24×30 may ship rolled inside a thick-walled tube with archival tissue. All shipments are insured for full value with tracked carrier service. Framed pieces ship in custom-cut wood crates with foam edge protection. Signature on delivery required over $500.
What documentation is included?
Original COAs, publisher certificates, third-party authentication letters, and Gauntlet Gallery condition reports ship with the artwork. Every piece also gets a blockchain-verified COA on Polygon via TrueCOA, permanently anchoring provenance. Specific documentation for each listing is noted in the product description.
Why buy from Gauntlet Gallery instead of a marketplace?
Marketplaces give access but leave buyers to judge authenticity, condition, pricing, and seller credibility alone. Gauntlet adds a trust layer through detailed photos, item history, condition notes, pricing context against 50,000+ market comps, fake-risk review, and blockchain-anchored documentation. Every listing is prepared by the same curator who sourced and reviewed the piece.
