Signature Evolution: Why Era Matters
Michael Jackson's signature changed significantly across five decades. His early Jackson 5 era (1969–1975) signatures are loose and childlike. Mid-career signatures (1979–1991, the Thriller/Bad era) are distinctive and recognizable. Late-career signatures (2000–2009) show further evolution. Authenticators must match the claimed era to the appropriate signature characteristics.
Gauntlet Gallery's Standards
Gauntlet Gallery (gauntlet.gallery) will not list Michael Jackson items without Beckett, JSA, or PSA/DNA authentication. Given the scale of the forgery problem in this category, we consider era-matched authentication documentation non-negotiable. Review our methodology at gauntlet.gallery/pages/ai-facts.
