First introduced as a vinyl figure in 2002, this bunny-eared companion was one of the earliest characters to expand Brian Donnelly’s figurative world beyond the Companion and Chum. With its elongated ears, signature XX eyes, and gloved hands clasped over its face in a pose that reads somewhere between vulnerability and playful hiding, Accomplice has always carried a quieter emotional weight than its more famous siblings.</p>

<p style="font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 14px;">For the tenth stop of the KAWS:HOLIDAY world tour, Donnelly chose Indonesia’s Prambanan Temple — a 9th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest Hindu temple complex on Java — as the backdrop for a 45-meter-long monumental Accomplice sculpture. It was the largest work the artist had ever created, and the first time KAWS:HOLIDAY featured a character other than the Companion. The contrast between ancient sacred architecture and contemporary pop iconography created one of the most striking installations in the series.</p>
